PLEG members will describe:

  • restoration of the native grasslands
  • fauna of the gorge
  • the Wurundjeri archaeological artifacts
  • eDNA sampling of platypus
  • rare plant species found in the gorge
  • monitoring of fauna and flora

A Melbourne Water representative will explain the extensive boxthorn and rabbit control undertaken by Capital Works along 3km of the gorge this year.

At 10am the Mayor of Melton, Cr. Bob Turner will launch the educational leaflet describing the Ecological Vegetation Classes and fauna of the gorge.

There will be displays of 'before' and 'after' photos of the Melbourne Water and landcare works. Meet the contractors who have been working on the gorge, and those who harvest native grass seed.
