Planting - Pinkerton Forest

9 August 2008
Time:
1pm at the gate on Mt. Cottrell Road
Where:

Pinkerton Forest

Details:

We have decided to continue planting while the ground is still damp, this time in Pinkerton Forest, both restoration planting within the woodland according to the F & F Report from seeds collected from a private property on Mt. Cotterell, and also on the rockery entrance as a showpiece displaying local species for visitors entering the property at the grave-yard entrance. Here we have placed protective matting in order to gain the uppper hand on both the weeds and rabbits.

Plants to be installed are Fuzzy New Holland Daisy, Pussy tails and Showy podolepis. We are waiting on the tufted bluebells which are not as yet mature enough to plant.

This will be an afternoon planting, so as not to clash with BOCA's bird assessment on Sunday 10th August. If you are free it would be good to see you. Please bring a hammer for stakes, otherwise all the equipment will be provided by PLEG.

If you are coming later, please enter and shut the gate behind you and drive straight down the track until you see the cars, afternoon tea will be supplied as usual.

Here's hoping for good weather.
