Mulla Mulla Grasslands Walk

It seems like a good time to visit Mulla Mulla Grasslands (Bush's Paddock) and start to make plans for it's management this year in association with the Shire of Melton.

The plans made in 2007, (remember the record numbers of tall featherheads after burning the middle paddock?) for burning the top paddock have been recently executed by Melton CFA.

Following the wonderful rain, 9mm! it should be interesting to view any new growth on the burnt paddock and check the rare and rescued area for need to prepare it for mosaic planting, plant seeds sourced from a Mt. Cottrell Road property.

There are a couple of groups coming out to work on the grasslands soon, a Melton Finance Company and the Conservation Volunteers Australia in May and June. It should be in good shape for spring wildlfower walks.

Everyone is welcome to come and enjoy walking around the paddock, identifying the plants and planning for this year works.
